Calling all VetAg students: GAFS wants you!

Calling all VetAg students: GAFS wants you!

You all must have heard the advice before: get involved and join a club.

At the University of Melbourne where you are likely to have every class with different people, it becomes extremely important to do so. The major benefit of joining a club or a student organisation is to build your network.

At Graduate Agriculture and Food Society we give you an opportunity to do this and gain practical experience in your field of study.

If you are enrolled in any post graduate course in Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences or you are just keen to know more about the food and agriculture industry of Australia, then our society GAFS is open to you.

Membership is free and this will score you access to our regular free events like Welcome Night, Industry Mingle, Alumni night, etc.

Our vision is to empower and provide our students with the skills and experience to be ‘work ready’ in the Agriculture and Food Science Industry by bridging the gap between professionals in the workforce and students at university.

Our mission is to provide social and professional networking opportunities for all our members.

We are currently working on our next event ‘Industry Mingle’ to be held on 25th May. This is a panel styled discussion where professionals within the food and agriculture industry will be participating.

Attendees will have a chance to learn from them and afterwards mingle with them over some light refreshments. It is a great opportunity for students to build their network.
